If the Kardashians Were Dog Breeds…

Kardashian Promo from 2007

Are you obsessed with “Keeping up with the Kardashians?”

Does owning a doggie version of Kim or Khloe make you all warm and fuzzy inside?

If your answer is “yes” then the following dog breeds are perfect for you!

Kim

While Kim is sometimes portrayed as the least intelligent of the family, she definitely isn’t as dumb as she appears. She is glamorous, dedicated, independent, and fun. You may be wondering what dog breed shares all those traits, and if you guessed the Poodle you would be right!

This breed is always ready to make a statement with a new haircut or a cute collar, and don’t even get me started on their acting skills. Poodles have been performing in circuses around the world for years, and like Kim, they love the attention and the limelight!

Khloe

Khloe is the sweet, funny, loving sister who doesn’t always fit in. While she is—in my opinion—the most beautiful of the Kardashian family, she does often struggle with her weight just like her doggy doppelganger, the Saint Bernard.

The Saint is a very courageous breed that faces each obstacle before them like the champions they are. No matter what is going on in Khloe’s personal or professional life she always keeps her head held high and carries on!

Loyal to a fault, they would both do anything for their families and have had their fair share of screen time.

Saint Bernard Face Looking Up

Kourtney

Tenacious, feisty, and energetic, Kourtney is the oldest of the siblings and she isn’t afraid to let her experience show. She is fiercely protective of her family and those she is close to just like her doggy spirit guide, the Jack Russell Terrier.

Jack’s are incredibly intelligent and are frequently found running circles around their families. The same can be said for this wiley Kardashian sister.

Neither are camera shy—with Jack Russells appearing on screen in TV shows like Wishbone and Frasier and Kourtney appearing in numerous of the families shows and spinoffs.

Kylie

Ambitious, beautiful, dedicated, and trend setting are a few words that describe Kylie Jenner and her doggie match, the Yorkshire Terrier. Both can be very tenacious and will do whatever it takes to get what they want.

Though they may not look very fierce on the outside, Yorkies were bred to hunt and kill rats in the 19th century.

While Kylie probably isn’t spending much time rat catching, she is slaying her competition on the catwalk.

Kendall

An all American beauty, Kendall Jenner is more than just a pretty face, she is smart, funny, and sweet just like the Golden Retriever. While Kendall isn’t quite a household name just yet, I think she may have a shot at filling in the gigantic shoes left for her by the Golden Retriever.

Starring in TV shows like “Full House” and movies like “Air Bud” and “Homeward Bound,” the Golden Retriever is one dog that has been gracing our televisions and hearts for years.

While Kendall is just getting started with her modeling, she has been a fixture on “Keeping up with the Kardashians” for more seasons than I can count.

Keep up the hard work, Kendall. One day you might be just as famous as the Golden Retriever.

Golden Retriever on the Hillside

Rob

The protector of the family, Rob is loving, loyal, and dedicated when it comes to his sisters. While he may get somewhat aggressive at times, that doesn’t stop him from being brother the girls always wanted.

Choosing Rob’s dog breed doppleganger was the easiest of them all, he’s sweet with those he knows, but reserved with strangers. He loves having a good time, but sometimes gets carried away, and though he is eager to please, he often seems rather lazy. Ringing any bells yet?

If you guessed the Rottweiler you would be spot on!

This dog wants nothing more than to be the defender of his family. He is laid back and loving when he needs to be, but aggressive and strong when it’s required.

Don’t challenge this breed or it’s human counterpart or you may be in for a rude awakening.

Kris

I had to think long and hard about the best breed to match up with the mother of the Kardashian clan. Some traits that describe Kris are powerful, thoughtful, aggressive, and driven. These are all traits that can also describe the German Shepherd.

With the proper socialization German Shepherds can be amazing family pets, but they can just as easily be trained to attack people and excel at dog spots like Schutzhund.

Schutzhund is a sport where breeds like German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, and other tenacious breeds are trained to attack a person wearing a padded suit. This same training is used for police dogs as they practice for the force.

Kris shares a lot of these same traits as she fights for her daughters contracts and gigs and gets them the best deals possible.

Three Black and Tan German Shepherds

Caitlyn

Athletic, beautiful, stoic, and independent are just a few words that could be used to describe both Caitlyn Jenner and the Afghan Hound.

The Afghan Hound sports gorgeous long flowing locks and is always in tip top shape ready to chase down it’s prey.

In this way Caitlyn and the Afghan have a lot in common, as back in the day she was an Olympic gold medalist. You never can tell what is on the mind of the graceful Afghan and the same can be said of Caitlyn who kept her thoughts on many things to herself over many years both on and off the air.

Afghan Hound with Long Hair

No matter what you think of the Kardashians or the breeds mentioned, you have to admit that they are all glamourous.
